The Mets’ farm system continues to progress, as they now have up to five players on MLB Pipeline’s updated Top 100 list, which is tied for third in baseball.

These players are:

  • RHP Brandon Sproat: No. 40

  • SS/OF Jett Williams: n°52

  • DE Drew Gilbert: #74

  • 1B/OF Ryan Clifford: n°87

  • OF Carson Benge: No. 99

Sproat struggled mightily throughout the season after receiving a promotion to the Triple-A level, but he was one of the system’s biggest early risers, with a 3.40 ERA and a WHIP of 1.10 while striking out 131 batters in 116 innings.

The right-hander is expected to start the year with Syracuse, but he has a chance to make his debut sooner rather than later.

Williams and Gilbert have both dipped in the rankings after missing significant time due to injuries this year, but they still possess significant potential and should also get the chance to show what they can do in practice. spring and at some point during training. the regular season.

Left-handed hitting Clifford showcased his power hitting prowess after receiving a promotion away from pitcher-friendly Maimonides Park, hitting 18 of his 19 home runs and posting a .359 on-base percentage down the stretch with the Rumble Ponies. .

Benge, the Mets’ first-round pick, is the newcomer to this list after enjoying a hot start to his professional career with three doubles and two homers over the final 15 games of the season in Low-A.

The 21-year-old outfielder has legitimate five-tool potential and could progress quickly through the system.
